Measure Your Dog: Chest, Back & Neck
A few accurate measurements can make choosing a size much easier. Use a soft tape measure and record your dog’s current dimensions before comparing them with the chart for the product you want.
Before You Start
Have your dog stand naturally on level ground. Keep the tape flat against the coat without pulling tight, and ask someone to offer a treat if your dog moves.
1. Chest Girth
Measure all the way around the widest part of the rib cage, usually just behind the front legs. Record the full circumference—not half the chest.
2. Back Length
Measure along the back from the base of the neck (where a collar naturally rests) to the base of the tail. Keep your dog standing rather than curled or sitting.
3. Neck Girth
Wrap the tape around the base of the neck, where the neckline of the garment will sit. Measure comfortably without tightening the tape.
Check the Product Chart
Compare your measurements with the size chart shown on that exact product page. Different garment types use different fit rules; weight is a reference only.
Frequently Asked Question
What if my dog falls between sizes?
Do not size up by weight alone. First follow the fit priority listed on the item page, then check that the remaining measurements still fit within the recommended range.
